The Shack - sleeps 4

The Shack is at the bottom of our hill and nearest to the sea. Sleeps 4 with a private enclosed garden.

Outside, to the front there is a shrubbery with a mixture of flowering bushes, to the rear is a secluded enclosed garden with a lawn and patio.

The cottage is all on one level, making it particularly suitable for wheelchair users. It is 50m from the top of the beach (but sadly has no sea views).

The well-furnished lounge and the two ensuite bedrooms are all on the same level.

Entrance

There is a level, surfaced path from our private road to the accessible front door. Inside there is a small hallway with coat hooks, a bench and room for your wellies. Off to the left there is a utility room with WC, wash basin and washing machine.

Kitchen and dining

The entrance hall then leads on to the openplan kitchen and dining, this has a central island with electric hotplate with hood above and a marble serving/preparation area. Along one side there is sink, dish washer, oven, microwave, and good sized fridge/freezer.

The kitchen then leads off to the dining area where there is a table and generous seating for six.

The well-furnished lounge and the two ensuite bedrooms are all on the same level.

Outside

Through the sliding doors is the paved patio with tables, chairs, and a warm outdoor shower for when you come back from the beach.

The sunny patio and lawned areas are surrounded by a (reasonably) child and dog proof fence (but no guarantees offered!). The Car Parking area and the main access to the road are outside the fenced area.

A little bit of history

This Bungalow / Cottage is on the same private road as our other houses. The original shack, a small shed, was put here by Jann’s grandfather at the end of the 1920’s as a place to stay when he came down from Cross Hands to do some fishing. Over the years the cottage has been added to, improved and modernised.
