Morawel Morawel (which is 50m from the top of the beach) has just completed a major facelift. Having been divided into two apartments for the past 25 years, it has now been restored as a large family house to sleep 10, with 5 bedrooms and four bathrooms (three ensuite). The kitchen is large and fully equipped, and has a gas/electric range cooker. There is a separate dining room, and the lounge is now upstairs with excellent sea views. The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and its own private deck. Outside there is a patio, a barbeque, a shower (with warm water), a tiny garden, and there is plenty of parking. Seafront Walkway Apart from a small middle section this has now been completed. Starting just below the "Ship" the path makes it possible to cross from one side of the village to the other via a pleasant walk by the beach and through the woods well away from traffic. By design, the walk is suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs (including battery powered). Facilities for Disabled Since the completion of our major upgrade programme, three of our properties, Dolphin Cottage, Mor and Morawel, meet Grade 2 Access standards - ramped entrance, all level ground floor, and accessible showers. We can also help with other special needs - please ask. In addition, there is ramped access to both village beaches (however, moving a wheelchair on sand is, of course, still major challenge for most!). Aberporth Carnival - this will be on 3rd August. Dydd Ia Mawr (big ThursdaY) We do our best to continue to celebrate what was the traditional farm workers' day off. This is held on the second Thursday in August. It often rains, but its always good fun in the "Ship". Some Things to Do Do your organic shopping at the Farm Shop in Sarnau; get excellent local produce plus the latest gossip in Aberporth WI Market on Tuesdays; try the Spanish Deli in the upstairs market in Cardigan; cheer up bolshie teenagers - treat them to a trip to the All Terrain Centre in Penparc for mountain boarding and skate-boarding; there's also an excellent new skate-board park in Cardigan; and, for the less active the new £6m Theater Mwldan in Cardigan is well worth a visit, especially if the junior members are driving you potty then the two cinemas there can be a boon to harassed parents. |
